Creative Databases
|
Discover inventive uses for the database tool to manage student study groups, files or project activities. |
Facilitator: Peter Evans
By the end of the session, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:
- identify creative educational uses for a Moodle database
- use preset templates to build a simple database for use as a bibliography
During the session:
- The database tool, its flexibility and why you might use it.
- Examples from courses in our College that have used databases successfully.
- Brainstorm other uses- how one could be used in your course
- Setting up fields and templates. Begin with a preset and build from there.
- Options for allowing student contributions- whole class database or small groups
Advanced content (if time allows):
- Ways to make the database a private space for each student without having to put each student in their own group- require approval or set minimum/maximum number of posts.
