ABSTRACT:
During the last two years, IBM has been very active in articulating a vision for a smarter planet based on the ability to gain deep insight into complex systems through ubiquitous instrumentation of our world, the interconnection of that instrumentation and analysis of data from those instruments. This talk will describe how this vision has been turned into reality, what potential opportunities and challenges lie ahead, and the role that IBM's new R&D lab will play in this area.
