ABSTRACT:
Physical-layer security is an emerging technology for providing security in future wireless communication systems. Although a significant amount of work has been done on physical-layer security, the research in this area is still at an early stage due to the use of impractical or simplistic assumptions. The presentation will firstly give an introduction to physical-layer security or information theoretic security. And then, a brief review of the issues in secure transmission design will be given. Finally, the presenter will discuss the design problem of aAdaptive Encoder with On-Off Transmissiona from a more practical perspective, with some close-form formulations and numerical results illustrated.
BIO:
Biao (Thomas) He is an honour year undergraduate student, majoring in Telecommunication & Electronic Systems. He did his first two year of university in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) before transferring to the Australian National University (ANU). He is doing his honour year project with Dr Parastoo SADEGHI about Pilot Symbol Transmissions, and a one term special research topic with Dr Sean Zhou about the Physical-layer security. In semester2 2011, he did a research topic with Dr Mark Reed about the Modelling of Indoor Radio Propagation. He also has a three-month summer work experience in InterfereX Communications Pty. Ltd as an R&D engineer.
